ABOUT THE ARTIST

Emma Adler is a contemporary sculptor from Westchester, New York, whose work explores the intersection of mass media, digital culture, and contemporary identity. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts, with an emphasis in Visual Language and a minor in Art History, from SUNY Purchase College in 2022, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Adler is based in Atlanta, Georgia, where she maintains her studio and professional office at Echo Contemporary.

Working across sculpture, installation, video, and digital media, Adler creates large-scale pop-inspired works that examine the psychological and philosophical effects of Western popular culture and the hyper-mediated digital landscape. Her sculptures incorporate materials such as mirrored surfaces, metal, silicone, and mixed media, often merging physical objects with moving-image technologies to blur the boundaries between virtual and tangible experience.

Adler's early practice was rooted in digital media and video installation, informed by Situationist theory and critical investigations of political spectacle, identity construction, and consumer culture. As her practice evolved, she translated these conceptual concerns into sculptural form, using immersive environments and monumental objects to explore how technology, social media, and visual consumption shape contemporary perceptions of self.

In addition to her studio practice, Adler independently represents and manages fine artists, collaborating on exhibition strategy, artist development, public relations, and career advancement within the contemporary art world. Operating from her studio and office at Echo Contemporary, she works closely with artists to cultivate exhibitions, expand professional opportunities, and develop long-term career strategies. Her dual perspective as both a practicing artist and arts professional informs her understanding of the evolving relationships between artists, galleries, institutions, and audiences.

Her ongoing research investigates the digital representation of women, internet aesthetics, and the cultural psychology of online life. Looking ahead, Adler intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Art History while continuing to expand her studio practice through exhibitions, public projects, interdisciplinary research, and artist management initiatives that support emerging and established contemporary artists.
